If you have bottles of medicines all over your kitchen or bathroom common areas, it might be time for your to organize your medicine cabinets. Your medicine cabinets should complement the rest of the décor of your bathroom. Sometimes medicine cabinets can be hidden by the use of mirrors or pictures. But medicine cabinets should be there and should be well organized.

You’ll want to first look at what you’ll be storing in your medicine cabinets. Figure out which bottles, which medicines, and which toiletries you’d like to store in your medicine cabinets. Then figure out how big of medicine cabinets you should buy. When you shop for medicine cabinets, you’ll want to make sure you find medicine cabinets that complement your other furnishings in your bathroom and make sure that they are large enough to hold everything you want to keep in them.

After you’ve mounted your medicine cabinets, you’ll want to store your medications in them. You’ll want to store both your prescription and nonprescription medicines out of the reach of your children. You’ll even need to keep medications with childproof packaging out of reach of your children. Pay close attention to expiration dates on medicine bottles and packaging. Some medications simply lose their effectiveness after time, and others become dangerous. You should store your medications in their original packaging and read and follow all label directions.

You should clear out the clutter, paint, and wallpaper off the walls in your bathroom. Then, you should start putting your bathroom together and properly hang your medicine cabinets, so your medicines and other belongings are properly stored.

When you are organizing your medicine cabinets, you’ll want to keep your toiletries grouped together so that the toiletries you use most are most easily accessible. Next, you’ll want to group your medicines together. You should keep your over-the-counter medicines all in one area and your prescription drugs all in one area. These medicines should be on the highest possible shelf, to make sure children can’t reach them. You’ll also want to make sure your medicine cabinets are mounted completely securely so there won’t be any possibility your children can reach them. Finally you’ll place another other items like brushes and cotton swabs in your medicine cabinets or any other items that you’d like to keep there. Close the doors to your medicine cabinets and you are done. Make sure that when you take something out of your medicine cabinets that you put them back in their proper places when you are done.
